The Amazon UK Operations Leadership Certificate application has four parts: eligibility questions, background questions, short-answer questions about your interests and experience, and a CV upload. If your application moves forward, we’ll email you an invitation to book an admissions call.

Module 1: Communication Essentials
Strong leaders communicate differently, and this module shows you how. You’ll develop the emotional intelligence that shapes how you connect with peers, managers, and customers, alongside practical skills for verbal and written communication: planning conversations, listening actively, and writing with clarity and professionalism. You’ll also put these skills to immediate use by building or refreshing your CV and developing the confidence to navigate a job search on your own terms.

Module 2: Work Relationships
The best leaders don’t just manage work. They build the relationships that make teams function. You’ll learn how to establish trust and psychological safety, communicate across diverse personalities and cultures, and develop a strong, productive relationship with your manager. You’ll also get practical tools for giving and receiving feedback, and for navigating conflict and difficult conversations with confidence.

Module 3: Problem Solving & Decision Making
In fast-moving operations environments, how you reach a decision matters as much as the decision itself. You’ll learn a systematic approach to identifying root causes, cutting through complexity, and making sound decisions under pressure. You’ll also build personal productivity habits, such as prioritisation, time management, and adaptability, so you can keep performing when conditions change.

Module 4: Analytics for Operations Leaders
Data skills are no longer optional for leaders, and this module makes sure you have them. You’ll learn to read business metrics and dashboards, perform operational calculations, and use spreadsheet tools to analyse data and validate insights. Just as importantly, you’ll learn how to turn what you find into clear, audience-ready communication that drives action.

As part of this certificate, you'll have access to optional coursework on the following topics:

Yes. The UK Amazon Operations Leadership Certificate is 100% online and designed for working Amazon employees, with no required live sessions. Most learners spend 5–7 hours a week studying, fitting lessons in before or after shifts, on days off or at weekends.

Lessons are self-paced, but quizzes and projects have due dates, so it helps to set aside regular study time each week to stay on track.

The Operations Leadership Certificate runs for 16 weeks, with one cohort in 2027:

Plan for 5–7 hours a week, on whatever days and times work for you. Lessons are self-paced, and we give you a suggested schedule to help you stay on track. Quizzes and projects have due dates.

Before the programme starts, you'll get early access to the course. We'll ask you to complete some pre-work during this time to make sure the programme is the right fit for you.

The Operations Leadership Certificate is open to Amazon UK employees who:

• are Tier 1-3
• work in an eligible sites (you can verify through the Career Choice portal)
• are hourly or salaried, on a full-time, part-time, reduced-hours, flexible-hours, or fixed-term contract
• will have worked for Amazon for at least one year by the start date of the cohort (9 March 2027)

Green badge workers (seasonal or agency staff not directly employed by Amazon) aren't eligible.

The Operations Leadership Certificate prepares Amazon associates for operations leadership roles, at Amazon or with other employers. These include:

• Operations and warehouse: Team Lead, Area Manager, Operations Manager, Warehouse Supervisor
• Facilities and workplace: Facilities Supervisor, Workplace Experience Supervisor, Learning Coordinator
• Administrative: Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Account Support Specialist
• Technical and maintenance: Maintenance Coordinator, Building Maintenance Technician

You’ll also get one-to-one career coaching after the programme, including CV support, interview preparation, and introductions to recruiters. There’s no guarantee of an internal promotion at Amazon, as promotion decisions stay with Amazon.

All you need is a Windows or Mac computer or laptop and stable internet connection. While you can complete the lessons on most devices including phones and tablets, labs and projects require a Windows or Mac laptop or desktop computer. For that reason you are not able to complete the course with only a phone, iPad/tablet, Chromebook, or Linux machine.

Not necessarily. Some Career Choice programmes are aligned to specific roles at Amazon, but you still have to go through the application and interview process to get the job. There is no guarantee that you will get a higher-paying job at Amazon in your field of study just because you completed a Pathways programme.

Most of the course content is written, and all videos have closed captions. Coaching calls and instructor office hours take place on Zoom.

We can’t currently provide British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation for course content. If you need a BSL interpreter for coaching calls or office hours, please let Amazon know at least one month before your programme start date.
